NY Field Trip: Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time

I am currently taking IB Literature and Performance SL with Ms. Guarino. At the beginning of the school year, we read a play version of “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime” by Simon Stephens adapted from a novel ofthe same title by Mark Haddon. The story goes around an autistic boy named Christopher. He likes the color red, dogs, and numbers, but he hates brown, yellow, and people who touch him. Everything has to be scheduled and exact in his daily life. However, one day, everything around him gradually changes. He starts something that he has not done before: beginning an investigation to find the murderer of a dog, which pushes him to meet new people and take a train to London to escape. A full summary of the book can be found here. It is a very interesting book that allows the readers to explore Christopher’s mind and his thoughts, which could be a little bit different from others because he has autism.   Continue reading NY Field Trip: Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time
